Business Description
BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust plc Formerly known as Merrill Lynch Greater Europe Inv Tst. The Company's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. The objective of the Company is to achieve capital growth, primarily through investment in a focused portfolio constructed from a combination of the securities of large, mid and small capitalisation European companies, together with some investment in the developing markets of Europe. The Company is an Investment Company and can take advantage of Section 265 of the Companies Act 1985. The Company has been approved by the HM Revenue and Customs as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Aug-2007.Investment management services are provided by BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Ltd for a fee calculated at the rate of 0.55% per annum of the Company's market value. The agreement is terminable by either party at six months' notice.
