Business Description
Sovereign Reversions PLC. The Group's principal activity is investing, marketing and managing home reversions and similar equity release assets. It provides finance to homeowners through equity release. Equity release provides a means for homeowners in retirement to use their homes to generate cash, either by selling all or part of the property but continuing to live in it during their lifetime (a home reversion) or with a mortgage repayable on death (a lifetime mortgage). Under a home reversion plan, a homeowner sells all or part of the home in return for a lump sum payment, or series of payments, and the right to remain in the house until he or she dies or decides to move out. With a lifetime mortgage, the homeowner takes out a mortgage loan secured on the property. The amount of the loan is based on the age of the owners, their life expectancy and the value of the property. The Group operates solely in the United Kingdom.
