Business Description
British Energy Group PLC. The Group's principal activity is generating and selling electricity. The Group owns and operates eight nuclear power stations in the United Kingdom with a combined capacity of almost ten thousand megawatts. The Group also operates a coal-fired power station in Eggborough that can generate almost two thousand megawatts. It operates two types of nuclear reactor, the advanced gas-cooled reactor and a pressurised water reactor. Seven of its nuclear power stations are of the advanced gas-cooled reactor design, while the remaining station are pressurised water reactor. The Group's electricity are sold through a variety of ways such as direct supply business deals with industrial and commercial clients, wholesale deals to power markets and acting as a supplier to a range of energy supply companies. The Group operates predominantly in the United Kingdom.
