Everest Re Group, Ltd.. The Group's principal activity is underwriting of property and casualty reinsurance and insurance in the U.S Bermuda and international markets. The activities of the Group are carried out through five segments. The U.S. Reinsurance segment underwrites property and casualty reinsurance through brokers and directly with ceding companies. The U.S. Insurance segment writes property and casualty insurance primarily through general agent relationships and surplus lines brokers. The Specialty underwriting segment underwrites accident, health, marine, aviation and surety business through brokers and directly with ceding companies. The International segment underwrites property and casualty reinsurance through its branches in London, Canada and Singapore. The Bermuda segment underwrites property, casualty, life and annuity business through brokers and directly with ceding companies.
