The Group is a unitary savings and loan holding company and it operates through its wholly-owned subsidiary, American Savings Bank. The principal business of American Savings Bank is the origination of loans secured by one- to four-family residential real estate located in its primary market area, which consists of the contiguous areas of Scioto and Pike Counties in Ohio and Lewis and Greenup Counties in Kentucky. American Savings Bank also originates loans secured by multifamily residences (over four units) and nonresidential real estate and purchases interests in loans originated by other lenders secured by multifamily real estate and nonresidential real estate located outside of its primary market area.
