Air Methods Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to air medical emergency transport services and systems throughout the United States of America. It operates in two segments: Community-Based Services and Hospital-Based Services. The Community-Based Services provide medical care, aircraft operation and maintenance, 24-hour communications and dispatch, and medical billing and collections.The division operates 131 helicopters and four fixed wing aircraft under both Instrument Flight Rules and Visual Flight Rules in 20 states. The Hospital-Based Services provide hospital clients with medically-equipped helicopters and airplanes which are generally based at hospitals. The division operates 191 helicopters and twelve fixed wing aircraft in 32 states. The Products Division designs, manufactures and installs aircraft medical interiors and other aerospace or medical transport products. In 2007, the Group acquired FSS Airholdings Inc.
