American Financial Realty Trust. The Group's principal activity is to acquire and operate properties leased primarily to regulated financial institutions in the United States. As of 31-Dec-2007, its portfolio consisted of 1,320 properties which include 929 bank branches and 377 office buildings 14 land parcels. The Group is a self-administered, self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) under Sections 856 through 860 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It leases its properties to banks and other financial institutions generally using long-term triple net or bond net leases, resulting in stable risk-adjusted returns on its capital. On 02-Nov-2007 the group entered into an agrrement to be acquired by Gramercy Capital Corp.
