The Group is a federally chartered corporation registered as a savings and loan holding company. The mortgage loans and a full range of deposit products are provided to individual customers primarily in the states of Georgia and Alabama. The operations are conducted through its wholly owned subsidiaries, CharterBank and Charter Insurance Company. CharterBank is a service-oriented bank which offers numerous loan products, including residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans, commercial loans, home equity loans, second mortgages and other products. CharterBank also offers deposit products which includes consumer and commercial checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts and certificates of deposit. The Group operates nine full-service branch offices in Georgia and Alabama.
