8X8, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to develop, market and sell telecommunication services and technology for Internet protocol, telephony and video applications. The services are marketed under the brand name Packet8. The Group offers Packet8 broadband digital phone service, Packet8 Virtual Office hosted PBX service, Packet8 videophone equipment and service and Packet8 MobileTalk service. The 8x8 voice and video broadband phone service enables broadband Internet users to add digital voice and video communications services to their high-speed Internet connections. Customers can choose a direct-dial phone number from any of the rate centers offered by the service, and then use an 8x8-supplied terminal adapter to connect any telephone to a broadband Internet connection and make or receive calls from a regular telephone number. As of 31-Mar-2009, the Group had more than 80,000 8x8 residential and videophone lines and more than 16,000 business customers in service.
