Florida Public Utilities Company. The Group's principal activity is providing natural gas, electricity and propane gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers in Florida. It operates in three segments: Electric, Natural Gas and Propane Gas. Electric provides electricity to Northwest and Northeast divisions to customers in Jackson, Calhoun, Liberty and Nassau Counties in Florida. Natural gas is used for heating, cooling, cooking, production of electricity by utilities, backup generation by business owners and homeowners and in many other ways by various industries. Propane gas segment distributes gas to retail, commercial and industrial customers in Florida. It also distributes propane gas through a non-regulated subsidiary. The Group also sells merchandise and other service-related products on a limited basis as a complement to the natural and propane gas segments.
