Plum Creek Timber Company. The Group's principal activity is providing raw material and conduct resource management activities for the paper and forest products industry. The Group also produces softwood lumber products, common and select board, studs, edge-glued boards, finger-jointed studs, residual wood chips, sawdust and planer shavings. The Group operates in four business segments: Southern Resources Segment, consisting of timberlands in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas; Real Estate Segment includes development of certain properties, internally and through third party ventures; Manufactured Products Segment includes four lumber mills, two plywood plants, two medium density fiberboard (MDF) facilities, and two lumber remanufacturing facilities and Northern Resources Segment, consisting of timberlands in Maine, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
