Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. The Group's principal activity is to distribute natural gas to customers in west-central British Columbia. It has three large industrial customers: West Fraser Mills Ltd, Alcan Smelters and Chemicals Ltd and B.C. Hydro and Power Authority. The Group also distributes natural gas to customers in the provinces northeast through its subsidiary Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. Its transmission pipeline is connected to the Duke Energy system near Summit Lake, British Columbia and extends 587 kilometers to the West Coast. These services are provided to approximately 39,100 customers including a number of large industrial operations. It also distributes propane vapour in the community of Granisle.
