The objective of the Company is to achieve capital and income growth by investing on a worldwide basis. The Company has been approved by the HM Revenue and Customs as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 30-Jun-2008. Investment management services are provided by Baillie Gifford & Co for a fee calculated at the rate of 0.50% per annum of the net assets of the Company attributable to its shareholders calculated quarterly. The agreement is terminable on not less than one year's notice, or on shorter notice in certain circumstances.
