Cadiz Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to acquire and develop water resources at San Bernardino County. The focus of its water development activity has been Cadiz Project. The Cadiz Program would provide Metropolitan with a valuable increase in water supply during periods of drought or other emergencies, as well as greater reliability and flexibility in operation of its Colorado River Aqueduct. The Group owns approximately 45,000 acres of land and related high-quality groundwater resources in the Cadiz and Fenner valleys of eastern San Bernardino County. The aquifer system underlying this property is naturally recharged by precipitation (both rain and snow) within a watershed of approximately 1,300 square miles.
