Mirant Corporation. The Group's principal activities are producing and selling electricity in the United States. It has four operating segments: The Mid-Atlantic segment consists of four generating facilities located in Maryland and Virginia with total net generating capacity of 5,244 MW. The Northeast segment consists of generating facilities located in Massachusetts and New York with total net generating capacity of 2,689 MW. The California segment consists of three generating facilities located in or near the City of San Francisco, with net generating capacity of 2,347 MW. Other Operations segment includes proprietary trading, fuel oil management, and gains & losses related to the Back-to-Back Agreement, which was terminated pursuant to a settlement that became effective in the third quarter of 2007. The Group's customers include ISOs, investor-owned utilities, municipal systems, aggregators, electric cooperative utilities, producers, generators, marketers & industrial customers.
