Uranium Resources, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to acquire and develop uranium mines in South Texas using the in-situ recovery mining process. It has three production operations: Kingsville Dome, Vasquez and Rosita. It's operating margins from production are impacted by uranium prices and costs. The Group focuses on two fronts: Advancing New Mexico assets towards production and Expanding reserve base in Texas to generate cash from operations to sustain efforts in New Mexico. It's also working with other active in-situ recovery mining companies, government labs and agencies to evaluate and develop new technologies in an effort to enhance groundwater restoration methods. According to the World Nuclear Association, as of January 2009, there are 436 nuclear power plants operating in the world with an annual consumption of about 170 million pounds of uranium. In addition, 43 reactors under construction, 108 being planned, and 266 being proposed.
